Sculpture in The City - Organiser: Martin Ridout

On public display in the streets of the City of London are 18 works of
sculptural art. Find and photograph as many as you can. Details of each
sculpture and a location map with a suggested route will be supplied on
the day.

The City is usually very quiet and un-crowded on a Saturday morning, so
photography of the artworks should be straightforward (weather permitting).

We will travel up to London Bridge station from Hayes on the 09:29 train
(West Wickham 09:32, Eden Park 09:34, Elmers End 0938).
Arriving at London Bridge at 10:03, we’ll walk across London Bridge and
have coffee at Pret A Manger just across the bridge on the right.

The culture trail starts on Fenchurch Street by the ‘mobile phone’
building and continues northwards past the Gherkin, to Wormwood Street
where we’ll have lunch at 12:15 at the Kings Arms pub. The lunch menu
starts at 12 noon and is a typical pub menu. After lunch continue the
trail or make your way home.

There is a fair amount of walking involved. I covered the whole route
from Fenchurch Street, stopping to photograph, in about an hour and a half.

There will be a competition from the photographs you will take, subjects
to be notified on the day.
